01Who we are

BK bio Co., Ltd. is the data controller for personal information processed through this website. We are located at the Jeju Lava-Seawater Industrial Complex, Jeju, Republic of Korea. For any question about this policy or your data, contact info@bkbio.com.

This policy applies to personal information submitted through the sample-request (contact) form on bkbio.com. It does not cover third-party sites that may be linked from ours.

02What we collect

The sample-request form is intentionally short. We collect only the fields you provide:

Fields collected by the sample-request form
FieldWhat it is
Name & companyYour name and the organisation you represent, so we can address our reply and confirm a B2B context.
Work emailA business email address used to send our reply, documentation, and sample arrangements.
Application / marketThe market you are formulating for, for example health-functional food, food and beverage, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical and nutraceutical, so we can route your inquiry.
Ingredient / specFree-text details of the ingredient or specification you are interested in.
ConsentA record that you agreed to this policy when submitting the form.

We ask that you submit business contact details only and that you do not include sensitive personal data in the free-text field. We do not knowingly collect data from children. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies for this form. Any strictly necessary technical logs, such as server access logs kept for security, are retained minimally and separately.

03Why we collect it

We use the information for a single, limited purpose: to respond to your B2B inquiry. That means identifying a suitable ingredient, providing documentation such as a COA or spec sheet, arranging a sample on agreed terms, and continuing the related sales correspondence. We do not use it for unrelated marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.

04Lawful basis

For visitors in the EU, EEA, and UK, we rely on the following bases under the GDPR:

  • Consent Art. 6(1)(a). You actively consent when you submit the form. You may withdraw consent at any time (see your rights below); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
  • Legitimate interest Art. 6(1)(f). Responding to a business inquiry you initiated, and our interest in conducting B2B sales correspondence, where this is not overridden by your rights.
  • Steps prior to a contract Art. 6(1)(b). Where your inquiry leads toward a supply agreement, the processing necessary to take those pre-contract steps.

For processing subject to Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), we process on the basis of your consent and to perform the steps you request, in line with the principle of collecting the minimum information necessary.

05Retention

We keep your inquiry data only as long as needed for the purpose above. If your inquiry does not lead to an ongoing business relationship, we delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period after the correspondence closes, with a target of 24 months, pending legal review. Where a supply relationship is established, related records may be retained longer to meet contractual and statutory obligations, for example commercial and tax record-keeping requirements under applicable Korean law. After the applicable period, data is securely deleted.

06Sharing & transfers

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their advertising. We share it only as needed to answer your inquiry, for example with service providers who help us operate the website or form (acting as processors under contract and on our instructions only), or where required by law.

Where data is processed outside your country (BK bio operates in the Republic of Korea), we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with PIPA and, for GDPR transfers, recognised safeguards such as adequacy or standard contractual clauses. The specific processor list and transfer mechanisms will be confirmed during legal review.
